Where’s my Nobel for this elegant observation? The photoelectric effect? More like schmotoelectric schmeffect (I see you Bertie). Tuesday, a humble freak, keeps its nasty to itself, unlike the braggadocious weekend. And Tuesday, I’m not trying to blow your spot up, but I aim to celebrate you with a song that could only be penned in your 24.

Jonny Z woke up early on a Tuesday in 1996, and went for a jog behind a herd of large bike short clad nalgas. Adrift in a midriff induced fugue, he had the dumbest idea for a song. Like all dumb things, it was fun as hell. Latin Swing is a long time favorite of mine and today, on a Tuesday (see!), I found it among a heap of mid-nineties twelves.

I called Emotion in Motion for minutes of assured companionship, they love me, eternally, even if that scares me (the idea of forever or even the idea of kinda long, because those ideas lie on that line of thought that connects me, the happy-go-bucky-ducky-no-fucky nitwit, to the tar pit death headlock thoughts). Then Slammin’ Sam Maxion’s synth lines, proto-zorbing yards in front of the vocals, leave me no choice but to lie face down in a romantic daze. This song still gets some radio play in town but apparently only fetches a fifty cent price tag on the Ave. Here it is for free and really light weight. Take it anywhere you might feel alone (everywhere) and you won’t have to wait for 98.1 to read your mind. Freestyle brings me back to the pwny and will scare off the few guests we’ve retained.

I picked up this record during my past summer in San Francisco and Tom Jones’ song soon became my anthem for the summer. Months later I have finally converted to an mp3 and put it up for your enjoyment.

Oh, it’s just you again. The New Year. Spin the dial on the tens digit, it has decaded. Behind that coming new year’s eve, 364 of the days before, collected the heaps of cries and purrs of our creative brethren. Circulatory System can’t be framed as young and exciting, but they have knack for a completing full songs and many nice ones appear on their new album. It’s the college radio experience, minus the long winded mic breaks. Take a break from the frontier, and check your friendster to this.

The No Kill I are a Star Trek punk rock band from Sacramento, CA. I don’t think they are still around, but it seems like one of those things that will never die. With songs like Regulan Bloodworm and Starfleet Up My Butt they sound as if Minor Threat was on Lookout! Records, and Lookout! traveled by Starship instead of Pirate Ship.

Furthermore, their website is a treasure trove of photos, stories, history, song lyrics, and more. It is a lot of futuristic fun, and all of their songs are available for listening.

Gucci Mane’s recent storm of mix tapes (Cold War/Burrprint) mark the crowning of El Niño, flood waters be damned. I’ve only had time to listen to The Burrprint 3-D. Frowney Face and My Shadow are both gems. Here’s Dope Boys for you trick or trick or trick or treaters. It’s penis music for sure.

You know when a comedian makes fun of an audience member, and they burn them so bad, worse then anyone would ever imagine ripping? The whoridden, deepest insecurities exposed, laughs louder than anyone in the crowd. Because they paid for it. Well I bought this record and I’m not sure if the joke is on me, but I paid for it, I enjoy it, it is my favorite Joni Mitchell cover yet.
